AURELIUS expands Executive Board

  • CFO Steffen Schiefer to become Executive Board Member

Munich, 30 November 2017 – AURELIUS Equity Opportunities SE & Co. KGaA (ISIN DE000A0JK2A8) is preparing for further growth by adding executive capacity. Per 1 December 2017 Steffen Schiefer and Fritz Seemann will join the Executive Board. “2017 was the most successful year in AURELIUS’ history,” said Dirk Roesing, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the general partner of AURELIUS Equity Opportunities SE & Co. KGaA. “The company has grown vigorously in recent years and is now in another size category. We are addressing the expanded requirements by adding executive capacity, and are very glad to have Steffen Schiefer and Fritz Seemann join us for the long term as very capable experts.”

CFO Steffen Schiefer to become Executive Board Member

Steffen Schiefer has been with AURELIUS since 2008, first as Director Finance, in which capacity he helped build up the Finance department. Since 2012, as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) he has been responsible for internal and external reporting, valuation, taxes, treasury and internal auditing. Following a degree in business administration at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main, Schiefer started his career at Metallgesellschaft AG in Frankfurt, at that time a DAX-listed company. In 1996 he moved to ProSiebenSat.1 Media AG in Unterföhring near Munich, where he accompanied that company’s IPO and was responsible for Group Accounting. Most recently he was Vice President Group Accounting there as well as CFO of wetter.com AG, a subsidiary of ProSiebenSat.1 group.

Fritz Seemann to join the Executive Board with focus on realignment of portfolio companies

Fritz Seemann will reinforce executive management in the area of operations. In this capacity, together with CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board Dr. Dirk Markus and Board Member Gert Purkert he will be responsible for the portfolio of subsidiaries. Fritz Seemann studied mechanical engineering at Berlin Technical University. Since 1999 he has worked on the realignment and operative improvement of companies, first as Senior Principal at Droege & Comp. and then as consultant and Interim Manager. Seemann has been with AURELIUS since 2009. Among other things, he was responsible for the very successful realignment of compressor manufacturer Secop, which AURELIUS sold in the summer of 2017 in the second largest exit in its history.
