Private Equity Intern

AURELIUS is a publicly-listed special situation and mid-market private equity firm, with offices in Munich, London, Stockholm, Amsterdam and Madrid. We focus on the acquisition of companies with operational improvement potential across Western Europe. AURELIUS is an investor for complex deals including turnarounds and the acquisition of profitable underperformers or business portfolios from corporates, owner managers, entrepreneurs, private equity investors, banks & funds. Our current portfolio comprises 24 businesses across the following sectors: industrials, chemicals, business services, consumer, food & beverages and TMT. We look to improve the performance of our portfolio businesses by providing management capabilities and the necessary financial resources for investment.

The Nordic portfolio generates c. EUR 600m of revenues and represents c. 20% of the European portfolio. We look to grow profitability of our portfolio companies by implementing operational improvement with our Operations Organisation of more than 80 people as well as providing funding for Capex programs and add-on acquisitions.

For our Stockholm office we are looking for a Private Equity Intern starting in our Investment Team in August or September 2020 for a period of 4-10 months. We offer a challenging work environment where you will be able to join in on some of the most interesting investment opportunities  in the Nordic region.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Investment Professionals of the Nordic Investment Team across a range of typical PE analyst tasks

  • Financial modelling and preparation of deal analytics

  • Industry and company research

  • Due diligence and in-depth analysis of investment opportunities

  • Working with valuation, P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reports

Your profile

  • Master or final year Bachelor student at a leading university (incl. strong academic track record)

  • Work experience in the fields of Private Equity, M&A, Consulting, Finance or Banking

  • Result-oriented personality with strong analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Communicative and entrepreneurial personality with well developed sense of responsibility and strong teamwork ethic

  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
