Neustadt, 13 October 2010 – With effect from 15 October 2010 industry expert Konstantin Bissias will join the management of the shipping company Peter Deilmann in Neustadt, owner of the Traumschiff MS DEUTSCHLAND, which is well known from the TV series of the same name. He will be responsible for sales and distribution, marketing, PR and product management. Mr. Bissias has more than 20 years of trade expertise in the cruise liner industry and will support the further positioning of the Traumschiff MS DEUTSCHLAND within the luxury segment. The 39-year-old native of Hamburg is a former employee of the first-class shipping company SEA CLOUD CRUISES where he had been managing director since 2005.
At the age of 16 he gained his first practical cruise-line experience as host. After the start of his career at the Munich based tour operator ISTS INTERCONTINENTAL Mr. Bissias, who holds a degree in travel business, joined the cruise specialist AIR MARITIME SEEREISEN of the FTI TOURISTIK Group in 1997 where he worked as sales and marketing manager. As a further step in his career he launched the cruise liner MS ITALIA PRIMA together with the club operator VALTUR on the German market named MS VALTUR PRIMA.
After his engagement as director of the general agency VALTUR Germany and AIR MARITIME SEEREISEN he became Vice President for sales and marketing at SEA CLOUD CRUISES in Hamburg in 2004 where he joined the management team in 2005.
“The shipping company Peter Deilmann is one of the best known shipping companies in Germany. I am very glad to contribute to the further positioning of the Traumschiff MS DEUTSCHLAND within the luxury segment and to offer our guests fantastic travel experiences,” says Mr. Bissias. “The trustful cooperation based on partnership with the travel agencies and tour operators is an aspect to which I attach particular importance.”
Mr. Bissias is married and father of two daughters aged 3 and 7. He is a dedicated sailer and painter, loves classical music and – time permitting – visiting museums.
