Schabmüller creates new jobs and invests massively in Berching

  • September best month of company history
  • Investments in machinery and production area
  • Creation of new jobs will be continued

Berching, 19 October 2010 – Schabmüller GmbH, a leading international specialist for electrical drive systems based in Berching, Bavaria, could complete the best month of its history in September 2010. The production operates again at full load with the business backlog constantly rising. To serve the customers reliably in the future the production capacities have to be enlarged efficiently.

Since its acquisition in 2007 Schabmüller, the former business unit for direct current motors of the American/Danish Group Sauer-Danfoss, has been successfully reorganized under the 100 per cent shareholder AURELIUS AG, Munich. New synergies have been achieved and the market presence has been considerably expanded due to the additional acquisition of the alternating current motor unit, also a former Sauer-Danfoss business branch, in December 2008.

The current economic upswing and the increasing trend towards hybrid drives make the extension of the production area at Berching an urgent necessity. The cut of the spade for an additional area of 2.000 m² is expected to be soon and will lead to an extension of the current production area of 10.000m² by 20 per cent.

To further increase the capacity and efficiency of the existing production lines and to be able to serve the growing need of alternating current motors investments in the machinery are undertaken as well. A total of more than 2.5 million euros will be invested in Berching by Schabmüller and its shareholder AURELIUS. To cope with the strong growth Schabmüller is looking for another 15-20 new employees enlarging its staff - after a reduction due to the crisis year 2009 - by 10 per cent to 370 employees compared to its level of 2008.

“We are very happy to leave behind the time of reorganisation and of the global crisis and to be able to report a solid growth,” says managing director Dr. Thomas Grahl. “Today we can proudly say that we are able to offer more jobs in the area than ever before. I am especially grateful to our employees but also to our shareholder AURELIUS for their support as a partner!”
